Independence day

Boo, I'm a sucky person. I haven't posted anything since March, not that anyone cares, yet. But a lot has transpired since. I entered a singer songwriter competition and won!!. Whooo. I'm sure you share in my excitement. The prize was to sing at the annual Wawa Welcome America 4ht of July free concert. As corny as it sounds, the fact that it landed on independence day meant a lot to me. I opened for The Roots, Common, Darryl Hall, Queen Latifah and Lauryn Effing Hill!!. She is the reason I started playing the guitar. So I was beyond elated. The second part of the prize is 4 hours of studio time with Carvin and Ivan of Karma Productions. Whom I'm still waiting to be contacted by -_-. But nonetheless I am so grateful to have had this opportunity. I was told that there were over 500,000 people in attendance during the concert!!! That's crazy!!  I'm looking forward to continuing on and really making this happen. I'm due in the studio on the 23rd so I can lay everything down, because I currently have nothing :(. And that just looks bad.

Swinging into Spring

To say today was a beautiful day is an understatement. It was a perfect day to pull out the wedges and enjoy the great outdoors. So that's what I did. I'm constantly driving up and down I 295 in New Jersey and I never stop at the scenic overlook, but the sky was too marvelous not to stop today.

  

 But, anyway. Like you've read in my header, I'm on this quest. Pretty much to be a better person all together. Not that I think I'm a sucky person. But we could all use improvement. One of my mmmm..... self improvement methods are that, if you look good, you'll think good and if you think good, you'll be good. So the last week I've been trying to dress my best everyday. Now, that may sound odd to you, but I'm a stay at home Mom. My outfits usually consist of leggings a T-shirt and mix matched socks. This challenge to myself isn't too difficult because I love fashion and looking pretty but I probably should use more wisdom in some of my choices. Like when I walked a mile to the park wearing 5 inch wedges a few days ago. 

I guess looking good leads to feeling good, but looking good while walking a mile leads to corns? I'll look good in flats next time. We did have a great time swinging though. It was my baby Benjamin's first time on the swings and he was unexpectedly unamused. I was a little disappointed because I spent the better part of yesterday searching for baby swings. And yes, I got stuck. I know it looks like I'm having way more fun than him. But I swear I went to the park for Ben. Today was such a great day. We went to the park, got buy one get one free water ice from Red Eagle(the line at Rita's was demonic), and simply enjoyed each others company. My goal of complete happiness is at my fingertips. The little boy to the left unlocks a bit everyday.. I hope you guys took full advantage of this God given day.See ya next time. Peace and everything that comes with it. :)

First things first

Ello! This is my first blog ever, so I have no Idea what I'm doing! I'm pretty much chronicling this venture of turning my dreams into reality and everything in between. I live for God, music, fashion, humor and life. Singing and song writing is what I do. I look for inspiration in everything and I'd love to find some here. I want to share these things with you, with the hopes that you'll gain inspiration as well and start your own new ventures. It's never too late or early to start something new.
